HONOR the TROOPS?

"Bush hasn't attended one funeral.

Rumsfeld signed condolence letters to the families with an electronic machine.

Most citizens just put ribbons on their cars..."

The cost of war.

Winter Interrupted

We're hanging out in the famous porch, it's a summer night, a warm breeze brings in the scent of exotic flowers..the candles give off a golden glow washing over our skin and J.J.Cale's singing Magnolia. His voice slides from the floor slips up the walls and from the ceiling drops of melting wax gently touch our nakedness...

Whippoorwill's singing
Soft summer breeze
Magnolia you sweet thing
You're driving me mad
You're the best I ever had
You're the best I ever had
You're the best I ever had
You're the best I ever had

Acoustic Heart Strings

No... I'm not a song of joy.

My song moaned and groaned from the deep south, heart and twanged its way into the marrow of my bones. Steel blue guitar strings plucking delta blue regrets on a moonlit tobacco road where men whispered hot sweet nothings in my ears, licking my desires, stoking my fire.

Close your eyes...I'm wearing my fevered skin.

.....Sway

Shadows Of A Blind Mind

Shadows Of A Blind Mind really moved me. It doesn't matter if you're for or against the war (occupation) in Iraq or for that matter, any particular war. It's a beautiful poignant song that pays homage to the American soldier- among other people.

Below is a review from CD Baby

"In this CD/DVD combo, award winning gospel singer, Giorge Pettus joins unknown but veteran songwriter/producer John J. Henry in his powerful song, “Shadows of a Blind Mind”. This song and video touches on the often hidden emotions that allow war to wreak havoc on the psyche and souls of a nation. It explores the emotions felt by soldiers, mothers, and fathers in dealing with their daily demons of combat. So often we keep silent about those horrors. This is a compelling song written and produced by Vietnam Era Veteran John J. Henry. Giorge Pettus, former national MCA recording artist, provides one of his most powerful and moving performances to date in this song and music video, Shadows of a Blind Mind. Hear it and you will be touched by the music and lyrics of this song but to experience it watch the powerful music video."
