Children For Sale?

Someone I know adopted a six year old boy from an orphanage in China. The child lived in what's called "Minority Villiage". There are different areas of the park to represent the different minority groups.

I wonder, are there monetary profits for the Chinese government from each adoption?

Because of their lack of value for human life, you'd think that they'd find some other way of "eliminating" the unwanted children. The Chinese government doesn't seem to have a problem with eliminating unwanted people. This is why I ask the question, do they keep alive the children for profit to sell to those who want, but for various reasons cannot have children? I think that this is highly possible.

I'm not against the adoptions, I'm happy for the unwanted children. But I cannot help but wonder about the Chinese government's motives.
